Rosacea translates literally as ‘as red as a rose’. This skin condition can be identified by bright red skin on the nose or cheeks, for example, and involves small, dilated blood vessels (also known as couperose skin), bumps and acne-like spots. NB: rosacea does not cause blackheads.

Rolling scars are another common acne scar. These look like sloping indentations. Another type of scars are boxing scars. These scares are red indentations that together form a U-shape.
